    The Qatar Bahrain ferry, launched on 6 November 2025, is now available for non-GCC nationalities as per the service booking app, MASAR. The service was initially available only for passengers from the GCC countries. The passenger-only ferry direct route, spanning nearly 35 nautical miles (approximately 65 km), connects Al-Ruwais Port in northern Qatar with Sa’ada Marina in Bahrain. The newly introduced ferry service will connect Al-Ruwais Port to Sa’ada Marina, with a travel time of 70-80 minutes. Passengers can book their trips through the MASAR app. The initial trips are scheduled from 7 to 12 November 2025, featuring two round-trips each day—one in the morning and one in the evening. This will increase to three round-trips daily from 13 to 22 November 2025, with the possibility of adding more trips based on demand and passenger numbers. Passengers can choose between standard and VIP vessels, which accommodate up to 28 and 32 passengers, respectively, providing modern and comfortable hospitality services onboard. All voyages will adhere to the security and customs regulations of both countries to ensure the safety of passengers. Organized by IFP Qatar in collaboration with Qatar Chamber (QC), and held under the patronage of the Ministry of Public Health, the event takes place from 11 to 13 November 2025 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). Qatar Medicare brings together 100 local and international companies under one roof—64 local and 36 international exhibitors—including healthcare professionals, hospital representatives, medical service providers, distributors of medical supplies and equipment, technology experts, and investors. It also includes extensive international participation from 14 countries around the world, led by prominent global institutions such as the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), UNESCO, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the International Labour Organization (ILO), alongside numerous regional and international partners and private sector companies, including hospitals, medical centers, insurance firms, and medical equipment suppliers.” According to estimates by Fitch Solutions, a subsidiary of Fitch Ratings, Qatar’s healthcare sector is projected to experience accelerated growth, with total health expenditure expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 14% by 2029, reaching USD 11.5 billion (QAR 41.86 billion). This expansion is set to position Qatar as the third-largest healthcare market in the GCC and the tenth-largest in the MENA region.
