Qatar Conducts First Successful Pilotless Air Taxi Flight Between Old Doha Port & Katara

The Minister of Transport, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani, witnessed Qatar’s first-ever urban flight of a fully unmanned eVTOL air taxi — marking a major leap toward smart and sustainable mobility.


The autonomous test flight took place between Old Doha Port and Katara Cultural Village, operating with zero human intervention and powered entirely by AI navigation and advanced aviation systems.

The Ministry of Transport will continue conducting tests, ensuring all safety, regulatory, and infrastructure standards are met before this technology becomes part of Qatar’s transportation system.



Captain Mohammed Al Khater, Project Manager of the unmanned eVTOL air taxi in Qatar, confirmed that the latest test flight was a complete success.

He shared that the journey took about 7 minutes from Old Doha Port to Katara Amphitheater, demonstrating the efficiency and future potential of this innovative transport system.


🛜 He also revealed that the team is currently developing the booking application, which will allow passengers to easily reserve flights and pay online once the service officially launches.
