London, United Kingdom — 4 November 2026: Qatar Tourism has joined the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) as a destination member, marking a new step in strengthening its engagement with the international tourism industry and expanding opportunities for collaboration across the Asia Pacific region.

The membership was formalised during a signing ceremony at the Qatar Pavilion at World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026, one of the global travel industry’s leading exhibitions.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Omar Al Jaber, Chief of Operations Affairs at Qatar Tourism, and Mr. Noor Ahmad Hamid, Chief Executive Officer of PATA, in the presence of H.E. Mr. Saad Al Kharji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism, and Mr. Henry Oh, Chairman of PATA.

Strengthening Tourism Connections Across Asia Pacific

Through its membership in PATA, Qatar Tourism will gain opportunities to engage with a diverse international network of tourism destinations, airlines, hospitality organisations, travel companies, tourism authorities and educational institutions.

The partnership will support closer collaboration with industry stakeholders across the Asia Pacific region, creating opportunities to exchange knowledge, develop professional relationships and explore emerging tourism markets.

Qatar Tourism will also have access to opportunities for research collaboration, business networking and participation in PATA programmes and industry events.

These activities will help strengthen relationships between Qatar and international tourism professionals while supporting efforts to promote the country’s tourism offering across a wider range of markets.

Supporting Industry Knowledge and Collaboration

PATA membership provides a platform for tourism organisations to engage in discussions about industry developments, market opportunities and emerging trends.

For Qatar Tourism, the membership represents an opportunity to exchange expertise with international destinations and travel industry stakeholders, explore collaborative initiatives and strengthen engagement with tourism businesses and institutions.

The agreement also supports Qatar’s continued participation in international platforms that bring together public and private sector tourism organisations.

Expanding Qatar’s International Tourism Reach

The signing at WTM London 2026 reflects Qatar Tourism’s ongoing efforts to build stronger relationships with global tourism organisations and increase Qatar’s visibility in international travel markets.

By engaging with PATA’s regional and international network, Qatar Tourism aims to create further opportunities for cooperation and strengthen connections with tourism stakeholders across Asia Pacific.

The membership forms part of Qatar Tourism’s broader ambition to position Qatar as a leading destination for both leisure and business travellers, while supporting the continued development and international reach of the country’s tourism sector.
