London, United Kingdom — 4 November 2026: Visit Qatar has signed a one-year strategic partnership agreement with Satguru Travel & Tours during World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026, aiming to increase leisure travel to Qatar from priority markets across Africa.

The agreement builds on a memorandum of understanding signed at WTM London 2025, establishing a framework for joint destination promotion, travel trade engagement and tourism development.

Strengthening Qatar’s Presence in African Tourism Markets

Through the new partnership, Visit Qatar and Satguru Travel will collaborate on destination marketing campaigns, travel package development, engagement with travel trade professionals and initiatives designed to facilitate travel to Qatar.

The agreement initially identifies six priority African markets for leisure tourism development, with activities designed to strengthen Qatar’s visibility and encourage more travellers to explore the destination.

The collaboration will focus on four main campaign themes:

  • Sports & Competitions: Promoting Qatar’s sporting events and international competitions.

  • Winter Sun & Outdoors: Highlighting Qatar’s winter climate, outdoor attractions and leisure experiences.

  • Family & Festive: Showcasing family-friendly attractions, seasonal celebrations and entertainment.

  • Culture & Celebration: Introducing visitors to Qatar’s cultural heritage, traditions and events.

These themes will form the foundation of joint campaigns aimed at showcasing the range of experiences Qatar offers international leisure travellers.

Leveraging Satguru’s Extensive African Network

Satguru Travel & Tours operates in more than 80 countries worldwide, including a physical presence in 42 African countries.

Under the agreement, Satguru will lead market activation, engagement with travel trade partners and the development of tourism packages designed for African travellers.

Visit Qatar will provide destination content, campaign direction and information about Qatar’s events calendar, helping travel partners develop and promote experiences that appeal to their customers.

By combining Visit Qatar’s destination expertise with Satguru’s established distribution network, the partnership aims to strengthen links between Qatar and travel professionals across African markets.

Promoting Qatar as a Year-Round Tourism Destination

The new collaboration will showcase Qatar’s tourism offering across sport, culture, family entertainment and outdoor experiences.

The partnership also aims to make it easier for travel agencies and tourism operators to introduce Qatar to new audiences through curated travel packages and coordinated destination marketing activities.

Qatar’s international sporting events, cultural attractions, hospitality sector and expanding tourism calendar are expected to play a central role in these campaigns.

Supporting Qatar’s Tourism Growth and Economic Diversification

The agreement reflects Visit Qatar’s continued efforts to expand international tourism partnerships and strengthen Qatar’s position as a leading global destination.

Through collaboration with established travel trade networks, Visit Qatar aims to attract more leisure visitors, expand its international reach and contribute to the country’s broader economic diversification objectives.

The announcement also refers to a wider ambition to strengthen engagement across eleven priority markets spanning the African continent, building on the initial market focus outlined in the partnership.

The signing at WTM London 2026, taking place from 3 to 5 November at ExCeL London, highlights the exhibition’s role as a platform for establishing international tourism partnerships and developing new market opportunities.

Through this collaboration, Visit Qatar and Satguru Travel aim to create further opportunities for African travellers to discover Qatar’s attractions, events, hospitality and cultural experiences.
