Qatar was named the world leader in mobile internet speeds by global speed test experts Ookla in their December 2020 rankings. The country’s position as leader sees it move up two places from an already impressive third place in the previous ranking, with an average download speed of 178.01 Mbps and an average upload speed of 29.74Mbps. Global averages were listed as 47.20Mbps for download and 12.67Mbps for upload. Qatar’s leading telecommunications operator is proud to have invested heavily in network expansion in recent years, pioneering the 5G revolution with the launch of its 5G network in 2018 and contributing to the country’s incredible connectivity.
