Qatar Prepares 690 Mosques and Prayer Grounds for Eid Al Fitr 2025 Prayers
Doha, Qatar – April 2025
The Mosques Management Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has completed preparations for Eid Al Fitr 2025, ensuring a smooth and inclusive experience for worshippers across the country. A total of 690 mosques and open-air prayer grounds have been designated for Eid prayers, marking an increase from 642 locations last year.
Eid Al Fitr prayers are scheduled to begin at 5:43am, with venues carefully selected to match population distribution and accessibility needs in both urban and rural areas.
The Ministry has undertaken extensive logistical arrangements in coordination with other entities to ensure all prayer locations are clean, maintained, and ready for worship. This reflects Qatar’s continued efforts to facilitate religious observances with dignity, ease, and safety.
Notable areas and designated prayer sites include:
• Al Salata Al Jadeeda: 8 locations including Abu Hamid Al Ghazali Mosque and Al Arabi Sports Club.
• Al Thumama: 5 locations including Ismail Bin Ali Al Emadi Mosque and Al Thumama Eid Prayer Ground.
• Al Aziziyah: 8 prayer venues including two large Eid prayer grounds and Hissa Bint Sultan Bin Ali Al Suwaidi Mosque.
• Fereej Bin Omran: 3 mosques including Sultan Naser Tawar Al Kuwari Mosque.
• Freej Bin Mahmoud: 4 locations including the Sheikh Naser Bin Abdullah Al Thani Eid Prayer Ground.
• Madinat Khalifa (North & South): 10 venues in total.
• Industrial Area: 12 locations.
• Al Wakra & Al Wukair: 38 combined prayer venues.
• Muaither: 30 designated locations.
